Vosne-Romanée is often called "The Pearl of the Côte" and includes the commune of Flagey-Echezéaux which was annexed to Vosne in 1121.

The village appellation vineyards are mainly on the lower slopes towards the Route Nationale covering an area of 105 hectares. Soils are clay-

limestone mixed with pebbles and limestone scree, well-drained although depths vary. For village-level wines from good producers the quality

is generally high and they rarely disappoint.

A spicy dark and black berry fruit nose precedes the velvety and firm medium-bodied flavors but the structure is well buffered by the excellent

mid-palate fat, all wrapped in a dusty and mouth coating finish. A lovely villages and worth a look.
