Les Cazetiers is situated on the Combe de Lavaux hillside just west of the Gevrey-Chambertin village between Clos Saint-Jacques and

Combe Aux Moines. Ideally positioned on a steep east facing slope at an altitude of 300 to 360 metres with 8.43 hectares under vine.

There are three different soil types, a white marl in the upper section, rock and scree in the middle changing to more fertile browner

clays lower down. Les Cazetiers is known for its earthy, mineral character that combines complexity and finesse, these are powerful

wines which age well.

A trace of wood sets off a less elegant but more complex nose of brooding and subtly spiced aromas of dark berries, animale and pungent 

earth. There is very good richness and abundant minerality on the big-bodied, muscular and intense flavors that offer fine length and excellent

power. This should be terrific in time but note my comment of "in time" means 15+ years.
